Who I Am

I have been an oil painter for many years and took up ceramics in 2020 and loved it. So now I do both with a passion! My favorite part of ceramics is the handbuilding, forming flowers and leaves and adding them to my pieces. It allows me to be creative in a different way than painting does. Within a year I purchased my own wheel, kiln, spray booth, you name it and I was off getting ready for my first art show selling my pottery.

Art has always been such a blessing in my life and even more so after I became deaf in 2013. I had had perfect hearing up until that time, so not being able to hear was a major adjustment for me and it became quite a challenge to socialize even with a cochlear implant. Having a passion that I enjoy so much has been such a lifesaver for me, helping me to adapt to my new world of struggling to hear the people around me. I find myself not wanting to be around people like I used to because it can be a lot of work to understand them especially in a group setting. I feel like the most blessed person in the world having my passion for art to sustain me. Thank you God and thanks to all of you for supporting my passion.
